Stylianos Kampakis, PhD, CStat
Stylianos (Stelios) Kampakis is a data scientist with more than 15 years of experience. He has worked with decision makers from companies of all sizes: from startups and solo entrepreneurs (which in total have raised more than $50 million in funding) to organisations like the US Navy, Vodafone, and British Land.
He is a Chartered Statistician (CStat) of the Royal Statistical Society, where he also serves on a committee for quality and assurance. He holds a PhD in computer science from UCL — doctoral research predicting football injuries, in collaboration with Tottenham Hotspur FC — and is an honorary research fellow at the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies; he also supervises student research at UCL. He is also a mentor in Cambridge University's Judge Business School, a data science advisor for London Business School, and CEO of The Tesseract Academy.
He is the author of The Decision Maker's Handbook to Data Science and Predicting the Unknown, and lead author of Business Models in Emerging Technologies — three books that have helped define the space of data science and AI for non-technical leaders.
Patents & IP
Named inventor on a granted US patent (US 12,525,350 B2) for machine-learning algorithms in contactless health monitoring, and on a pending US patent application for movement verification (Sweatcoin) — machine-learning IP taken from research to filed, defensible invention.
