On Monday 16th June, The Tesseract Academy had the incredible opportunity to showcase our work at the 2025 BridgeAI Annual Showcase hosted by Innovate UK — a landmark event that brings together the UK’s most innovative minds in artificial intelligence.

Held under the banner of the BridgeAI programme, this event spotlighted over 40 pioneering projects transforming sectors like agriculture, healthcare, construction, and most excitingly for us — the creative industries. As advocates of democratizing AI knowledge and adoption, it was a privilege to be among this inspiring community of innovators, thinkers, and builders.

But for us, this showcase was more than just an exhibition — it was a milestone moment.

We proudly unveiled our new course:
“Introduction to AI for the Creative Industries”, now officially part of the PwC AI Skill Hub, designed by Dr. Stylianos Kampakis (CStat) and Andrew Olowude.

The Course: Bridging the Gap Between Creativity and AI

The creative industries — including media, entertainment, design, and the arts — represent one of the most dynamic segments of the global economy. Yet, when it comes to AI adoption, these sectors often lag behind. Why? Because the language of AI has long been too technical, too intimidating, and too disconnected from the workflows of non-technical professionals.

Our mission was to change that.

The “AI for Creative Industries” course was developed to help professionals in these fields gain a practical understanding of AI concepts, explore real-world applications, and learn how to leverage AI to enhance creativity, productivity, and innovation.

This course is designed for:

  • Creatives and media professionals looking to understand generative AI tools
  • Project managers and team leaders seeking to integrate AI into their creative processes
  • Startups and entrepreneurs in the creative tech space
  • Educators and students pursuing careers in creative industries

With modules on machine learning basics, generative AI (including ChatGPT and image generation models), ethical considerations, and case studies, the course makes AI accessible without oversimplifying its power.

Being featured on the PwC AI Skill Hub validates our belief that AI education must be democratized and tailored to sector-specific needs. Whether you’re a filmmaker experimenting with AI for storyboarding, or a fashion designer exploring AI for trend prediction, this course gives you a solid foundation to build upon.

BridgeAI Showcase: A Hotbed of Innovation

The BridgeAI Annual Showcase, a flagship event of Innovate UK, offered more than just a platform for presentations. It was a living, breathing ecosystem of people passionate about the transformative power of AI.

We were in the company of fellow innovators from sectors including:

  • Agriculture, where AI is being used for crop monitoring and smart irrigation
  • Transport, with AI applications for logistics optimization
  • Construction, where wearable devices with AI assist workers with real-time guidance
  • Environmental science, with AI helping monitor and protect ecosystems

One exhibitor shared how their AI-powered app helped decode shorthand and non-standard writing, while another showcased a solution to combat the invasive Asian Hornet, a growing problem in UK biodiversity. Yet another had developed smart glasses for construction workers, aimed at improving precision in door and window installation.

This diversity of applications was a reminder: AI isn’t just for big tech. It belongs everywhere.

Our own conversations throughout the day highlighted a consistent theme: there is still a huge appetite for learning and upskilling. People from creative backgrounds, business leaders, and technical experts all expressed a desire to understand how to use AI meaningfully, ethically, and practically.

Driving AI Adoption Through Upskilling

One of the sessions we attended, “What It Takes to Adopt AI,” resonated deeply with us. AI adoption is not just about installing a new tool or hiring a data scientist. It’s about building confidence, changing mindsets, and empowering individuals and teams to see what’s possible.

This is where upskilling becomes the game-changer.

Unfortunately, the gap between AI innovation and industry application is often widened by the lack of accessible learning pathways. That’s why initiatives like the PwC AI Skill Hub and programs like BridgeAI are so critical. They provide structured, credible, and approachable frameworks for professionals in every field to gain hands-on knowledge.

The fact that our course is part of this ecosystem is a testament to our mission at The Tesseract Academy:
To make AI education actionable and inclusive, especially for non-technical professionals.

The Bigger Picture: AI for Good, AI for Growth

Events like the BridgeAI Showcase reinforce what we’ve long believed — AI is not just a technological evolution; it’s a societal transformation.

It has the potential to:

  • Level the playing field by offering small businesses the same tools as large enterprises
  • Enhance creativity, not replace it — enabling artists, writers, and designers to explore entirely new mediums
  • Solve real-world problems, from climate monitoring to accessibility improvements

But to truly unlock this potential, we need to educate, inspire, and include.

At The Tesseract Academy, we are more committed than ever to supporting AI education that is ethically grounded, contextually relevant, and industry-specific.

Final Thoughts

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Innovate UK, the BridgeAI team, PwC, and all the incredible attendees and exhibitors we met. The Showcase left us inspired, energized, and even more determined to push forward.

If you’re in the creative industries and wondering how AI might affect your work — or how you can lead the change rather than chase it — we encourage you to explore our course and become part of this growing movement.

Together, we can ensure that AI becomes a tool for empowerment, creativity, and human progress.
