Question 1 of 3

1. Question

The realist school associated with Barry Smith and BFO objects to Gruber’s definition of an ontology as an explicit specification of a conceptualization. What is their objection, as the lesson states it?

A specification of a conceptualization describes our ideas about the world rather than the world itself, so engineering ontologies risk formalising a team's misconceptions with great precision
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

The definition is too informal to be rendered in OWL, which cannot express conceptualizations at all
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

The definition ignores interoperability, which realists hold to be the only legitimate purpose of an ontology
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

The definition presupposes closed-world reasoning, which cannot scale to web-distributed knowledge
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

Question 2 of 3

2. Question

Which system and measured result are correctly paired, according to the lesson’s table of 2025-2026 production results?

ODKE+ from Apple: 55 percent higher factual recall than standard RAG across four LLMs
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

OG-RAG from Microsoft: 55 percent higher factual recall and 40 percent higher answer correctness over standard RAG, across four LLMs
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

Clinical KG QA in the Journal of Biomedical Informatics: precision lifted from 91 percent to 98.8 percent
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

OG-RAG from Microsoft: 61 percent reduction in hallucinated answers versus conventional LLM use
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

Correct / 1 Points

Incorrect / 1 Points
Question 3 of 3

3. Question

The lesson gives three boundary clarifications about what an ontology is not. Which statement matches its account of the ontology and the knowledge graph?

An ontology is a database schema tuned to one application's storage and performance needs
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

The knowledge graph is the semantic layer, while the ontology is the mass of instance-level assertions it governs
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

A taxonomy is an ontology plus logical axioms and constraints that machines can reason over
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

The knowledge graph is the data, millions of assertions about actual customers and pumps, while the ontology is the semantic layer that says what those assertions mean and what would make them inconsistent
Correct Incorrect Correct answer

Correct / 1 Points

Incorrect / 1 Points
