Welcome to the course “AI and the Future of Architecture: Case Studies”. This syllabus outlines a program for professionals new to Artificial Intelligence in architecture. Case Studies are organized from strongest to more exploratory uses of AI, reflecting how central machine intelligence is to each installation. For each project, we discuss its Architectural and Technological Goals, detail the AI Technologies Used (and how they function), and offer a Critical Analysis of the AI application – including ethical, aesthetic, and practical impacts. We also include Images of the Installation (from official Biennale or internet sources) and Suggested Readings/Media for further exploration.

By the end of the course, participants will have a broad understanding of how AI is being applied in contemporary architectural practice and discourse – from real-time urban simulations and robotics to generative design and climate-responsive planning. The course encourages critical thinking about these projects, posing questions about authorship, human–machine collaboration, sustainability, and the future of architectural intelligence. Let’s dive in!
